I graduated from Kahuku School, married my high school sweetheart of 35 years—mother of 4 adult children, Grandmother of 3. We are currently living in Hauula on the Windward side of Oahu. In 1982 I attended Honolulu Community College became a Licensed Cosmetologist 2 years later. Chemistry, a required course, consisted of making and testing products like soaps, lotion, shampoos, perms, etc. I became fascinated that we made products by hand. In 1982 there were minimal resources for developing Bodycare products, but I dreamed of making my line one day. Life happens, dreams of my line are put on the back burner. In 1990 moved to Utah, returning to Hawaii seven years later. On home visits, I looked for my favorite scent Pikake in perfume, lotion, anything. Extremely disappointed. I was determined to make a Pikake scent that smelled like the actual flower. Eighteen years later, Napua'ala was born with Pikake glycerin soap. Today I have seven different fragrances in seven types of products, including a men's line I call Tama Toa. I love to share my knowledge of oils, butter, and organic ingredients with my customers. I strive to make the most high-quality ingredients with a natural preservative product, using local ingredients when possible. I research the best possible use of eco-friendly packaging. I don't just like what I do; I love what I do.
