Nā Lālā O Ka Pūhala was formed by lauhala master weaver, Kumu Gwen Kamisugi (1944-2017). In 2016 Aunty Gwen passed her kuleana to Stacie Segovia who has been weaving since 2010. The main objective for Nā Lālā O Ka Pūhala is to perpetuate the art of lauhala weaving. We provide a series of classes to allow individuals to learn how to weave a papale and other items. We will also teach you how to gather, clean and dye lauhala. These products are made by the haumana of Nā Lālā O Ka Ka Pūhala.
